Experiencing life changes and struggling to cope? Have you experienced low mood, anxiety, anger, trauma, grief/loss, transitions in life like parenthood or relationship difficulties? Are you seeking a down-to-earth, easy to talk to therapist who can help you navigate life challenges/stresses?
I provide an open and non-judgmental space for individuals and couples to share their experiences in a way that promotes wellness. As a therapist, meeting people exactly where they are and providing support in their journey is a role I cherish. I have worked with individuals from all walks of life, from single parents to first responders.
I support individuals and couples throughout life’s journey from young adulthood entering new roles in life from pregnancy to parenthood and beyond, to collaboratively work together in seeking sustainable, healthier outcomes for overall wellbeing.
As a partner in the therapeutic process, I welcome consultations at your convenience. If you are ready, I offer a 20 minute complimentary consultation and I welcome you to reach out via phone call or by booking your consultation on our booking page.

Trauma Specialist
Hello and welcome, I am so glad you are here.
I am Allison, I am a registered social worker with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I value diversity and inclusion. You are welcome here.
Having worked for over 3 decades with individuals, couples and families, I understand and appreciate the complexities of historical, societal, cultural and structural impacts on people. I understand how early relationships and attachments impact our development and I help my clients to understand how their experiences shape their views of the world and themselves so they may see themselves with more compassion.
My practice is collaborative, your voice and your goals are central to the work we do. There is no “one size fits all” treatment so we will explore the best course of treatment for you. My treatment approaches draw heavily on Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) however, my vast education and experience in other therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) complement these modalities where needed.
My priority is to create a safe space where you can explore your inner world with warmth, curiosity and compassion. Traditionally, symptoms are regarded as illness but the truth is that they are communications and they guide us in our work showing the way toward healing.
For Couples
I love working with couples using the Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) modality. IFIO helps identify protective strategies or patterns of communication that are getting in the way of the couple getting what they need in the relationship. Together, we will work toward a different kind of communication; one that builds the connection you have always wanted.
I have limited space for new clients at this time so if you would like to discuss how we might work together, please email the clinic at info@huroniamindhealth.ca to book a consultation.
I look forward to meeting you.
Warmly,
Allison

Hi, I’m Andrea. I offer counselling for adults and couples who may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or simply carrying more than they let others see.
Many of the people I work with are used to being the ones who “hold it together” for everyone else — partners, parents, caregivers, professionals, or hardworking individuals trying to keep up with life while quietly struggling inside.
I believe therapy does not need to feel overly clinical or intimidating. Sometimes people come to counselling not because of one major crisis, but because they are tired of feeling anxious, emotionally distant, reactive, disconnected in relationships, or unsure of themselves. Together, we create a space where you can slow down, understand yourself with more compassion, and begin making sense of what you are carrying.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic approaches based on each client’s needs, goals, and personality. I incorporate elements from attachment-based, person-centered, strength-focused, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches to help clients better understand their emotions, relationships, and inner experiences with greater compassion and self-awareness. This work can be especially helpful for people who feel caught between wanting to move forward while also feeling emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or overly hard on themselves.
Clients often reach out for support with:
Anxiety and stress
Emotional overwhelm or burnout
Relationship and communication challenges
Life transitions
Self-esteem and self-worth
Grief and loss
Feeling disconnected from themselves or others
People-pleasing and difficulty setting boundaries
Managing emotions and finding balance
Processing difficult experiences or longstanding emotional patterns
I bring both professional training and a deep appreciation for the complexity of human experiences, relationships, and identity. My goal is to help clients feel emotionally safe, understood, and supported in a genuine way.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially in communities where people often carry the pressure of needing to appear “fine.” You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether you are navigating a difficult season or simply wanting to feel more connected to yourself and the people around you, therapy can be a meaningful place to begin.
I offer counselling for adults and couples in a supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment.

Caitlin (Cait) Doherty, RSW, BA, MA
I became a therapist because I wanted to be the kind of therapist I needed as a teenager - authentic, honest but kind and empathetic. I wanted to be the kind of therapist that people could trust, who they felt would listen and not judge. I have my own experiences of mental health and neurodivergence and use both personal and professional experience to support my clients. I am also part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. If that is the kind of therapist that would work for you, I’d love to talk.
I am a registered social worker with 9 years of experience as a therapist and community worker. I have worked in non-profits, including a Gender Based Violence Shelter, in the community doing educational workshops, and working as a therapist in a 2SLGBTQIA+ youth organization I have transitioned to private practice over the past two years.
I specialize in working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and youth (16-29) but I have experience with those between the ages of 10 - 55. I also work with couples.
Therapy is hard enough that you don’t need to feel judged when you open up to a therapist. I want to ensure my clients feel welcome but also understood. You are the expert of your own life and experiences. I am here to help guide and support rather than telling you what to do.
I use a mix of narrative therapy and Internal Family System (IFS) as my primary modalities. With narrative therapy, you are the narrator of your experiences. Also, people often think they are the problem. We are part of problems, but our existence in and of itself is not a problem. Along with this understanding of narrative, I use IFS to discuss the parts of ourselves that work together to support us day to day. Sometimes these parts served a purpose in the past and no longer do. However, these parts are important to understand even when they no longer serve us.
I primarily work with those who have experienced trauma, in particular gender based violence and childhood trauma. Trauma has an impact on our mental and physical health. Trauma is invasive and can make day-to-day tasks almost impossible. You are not a problem that needs to be “fixed”. Instead we will work together to figure out how trauma has impacted your life and build the tools and coping skills to manage day-to-day life. I look forward to working together.
